Charu is transliterated from Tibetan word ཆ་རུ (meaning "link"), a wooden button on the black yak tent. It also can be regarded as a symbol of traditional nomadic culture.
By inspiring farmers, nomads and youngsters with contemporary mindset and design, Charu devotes to inherit Tibetan culture in this modern age and encourage fair trade with original brand manufacturers. Empower sustainable development of Tibetan farming and nomadic areas by redesigning the traditional handicrafts and community specialties. Preserve disappearing cultural heritages in local museums and provide voice to the most ordinary people through our media platform.
